La Gomera, Island Spain

La Gomera is the second smallest island of the Canary Islands. Garajonay National Park, the jewel of the Canaries natural heritage, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. It has one of the best kept secrets of the islands. The forest of "El Cedro" is a true relic of the Tertiary and world reserve for the conservation of laurel. Thanks to the action of the sea of clouds (horizontal rain) the vegetation is very thick and we can find faille, heather, laurel and ferns. It is also being full of trails to hike, where we can learn firsthand of all the secrets of this ancient forest. In addition to Garajonay National Park, representing 33.3% of the total area of the island, La Gomera has 16 protected natural areas. La Gomera is an ideal touristic place to enjoy the beautiful landscape and the wonderful beaches, and the tropic climate during all the year.
