About the destination

Posada is an ancient village in Sardinia, Italy and the main village of a historic district called Baronia di Posada or Baronía Alta (to distinguish it from Baronia Bassa or Baronia di Orosei / Galtelli), on the island's Tyrrhenian coast. The old part of the village is located on top of a hill, preserving a particular medieval historical center, with the ruins of a castle (Castello della Fava) and a square tower from the 13th century. The castle was the summer residence of Countess Eleanor de Arborea, and was the object of possession by the county of Arborea and Aragon, during a long struggle before the Spanish conquest. The castle was later the residence of the Posada man, a title created in 1431 for Don Nicolò Carroz. In 1852 the title of nobility was finally bought by the kingdom of Sardinia. In its territory should be found the Etruscan and Nuragic temples of the city of Feronia, now lost.
